Rebecca “Becky” Sue Brown, 51, of Dillsburg, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at her home in Dillsburg, PA.
She was born July 31, 1973, in Tonawanda, NY and was the daughter of the late Richard C. and Louise (Niblack) Harrington. Becky was the widow of Timothy D. Brown.
Becky’s greatest joys in life were her children, Hope and Wyatt, and her family. She loved baking cookies and other sweets to share with family and friends. Becky enjoyed reading, especially Harry Potter-style fantasy and mystery stories.
She graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Conservation. She had a lifelong interest in animals and worked at a local nature center and at a wildlife rehabilitation center. Becky worked for many years for the State of Ohio. She later worked as a grant administrator for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the Department of Environmental Protection.
Becky is survived by her two children, Hope T. Brown and Wyatt A. Brown, both at home; four sisters, Patricia A. Harrington-Duff of Ellicott City, MD, Sally J. Harrington-Caldwell of East Berlin, PA, Denise H. Ketcham of Austin, TX, and Holly M. Yaniero of Moorresville, NC.; and mother-in-law Dian Brown of Ohio.
A memorial gathering will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 6-8 pm at Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg, PA.
