Reverend Quay F. Reiser, Jr.

Reverend Quay F. Reiser, Jr., 80, of Dillsburg went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at The Bridges of Bent Creek, Mechanicsburg.

   He was born January 19, 1943, in New Castle, PA the son of the late Quay F. Reiser, Sr. and Nellie Mae (Hammond) Reiser.

   Quay attended the Mt. Pleasant Church of God, Dillsburg.

   Quay enjoyed playing football and running track in High School.  After school, he went on to graduate from Moody Bible Institute.  He began his pastoral career in Richmond, VA at Mount Vernon Baptist Church.  He moved to Mechanicsburg and met his future wife Melanie.  He was Director of the Men's Ministry at the Bethesda Mission in Harrisburg.  He continued his pastoral career by preaching at many local churches as an interim pastor.  He enjoyed coaching his son's baseball teams over the years and cheering him on when he played football for Mechanicsburg HS.  He also enjoyed sharing his passion for tennis by coaching the Mechanicsburg HS Boys Tennis and Bermudian Springs Girls Tennis teams.  He taught private lessons and was a USTA official.  He enjoyed running, ping pong, walking his dogs, Reese Peanut Butter Cups and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.  Quay had a passion for serving others as seen in his prison ministry visits to local inmates.  He loved to encourage others and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 

   He is survived by his wife Melanie E. (Firestone) Reiser; a son, Nathan A. Reiser and his wife Andrea of Exton; two grandchildren, Kylie and Aaron Reiser; two sisters, JoAnn Spiewak of Clearwater, FL and  Judith Reiser of Houston, TX. He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by a brother David Reiser.

   A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023, 11:00 am at the Mt. Pleasant Church of God, 146 South York Road, Dillsburg, PA 17019. A visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30-11:00 am prior to the service.
