Rhetta M. Zeigler, 92, formerly of Dillsburg passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the U.P.M.C. Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 17, 1931, in Dillsburg the daughter of the late Norman L. Thumma, Sr. and Kathryn (Rider) Thumma.
Rhetta was the widow of Richard D. Zeigler.
She was retired from Kinney Shoe Corporation. Rhetta was an active member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Franklintown where she sang in the church choir.
Rhetta enjoyed playing canasta, puzzles, bingo, sewing and gardening.
She is survived by four sons, Jack L. Zeigler (Barbara) of Dillsburg, Jim R. Zeigler (Linda) of Carlisle, Jay A. Zeigler (Wanda) of Northumberland, Jeffrey T. Zeigler (Kathleen) of York Springs; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Rhetta was preceded in death along with her husband and parents by three brothers and two sisters.
Services will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 11:00 am in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg, PA. A viewing will be held Thursday from 10-11 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in the Warrington Friends Cemetery, Wellsville.
