Richard G. Ruelius, 98, of Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg and formerly of Dillsburg passed away Friday, September 23, 2022.
He was born in Flushing, Long Island, New York to Richard and Renee (Emig) Ruelius.
Richard was an Army Veteran of WW II, serving in the 87th Infantry in the European Theatre, and an Ex-POW.
He was married to Louise (Slater) Ruelius for 70 years. Louise passed away on March 29, 2021. He was also proceeded in death by two sons, Michael S. Ruelius and Joseph M. Ruelius; one daughter, Catherine M. Orr and one grandchild, Mark A. Ruelius. He is survived by his son, Anthony Ruelius; one daughter-in-law, Paula Ruelius; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Richard and his wife Louise enjoyed square dancing and were members of the Mechanicsburg Flirts and Skirts and the York White Rose Squares.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family and burial will be in the Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dillsburg Area Public Library, 204 Mumper Lane, Dillsburg, PA 17019.
