Richard L. Stevens, 72, of Mechanicsburg, PA passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the home of his daughter in Dillsburg.
He was born December 3, 1952, in Cumberland, MD the son of the late Gilbert D. and Nora M. (Van Meter) Stevens.
Richard worked for various businesses over the years including York Dispatch, Round Hill Foods, Penn Quality Eggs, Overnite Transportation, and UPS Freight.
He attended Milton Hershey School and then attended Dover High School his senior year from where he graduated. Richard also served his country in the Pennsylvania National Guard.
Richard enjoyed gardening and camping and sitting by the campfire looking at the full moon.
He is survived by his wife Martha E. (Petcavage) Stevens; his daughter, Michelle L. Stevens of Dillsburg; his step-children, William Dailey, Jr. (Denise), Thelma Dailey; his siblings, Charles Stevens (Linda) of Keyser, WV, Vickie D. Stoltz of Stevens and her daughter Jennifer, grandchildren, Kaden Watts and ex-son-in-law Kerry Watts, Rhianna Hoffman, Emily Wilson, Jacob Hoffman, William Dailey, III, Kaylah Dailey, Jessica Dailey, Haley Beers, Kylie Stevens; four great-grandchildren; and his estranged son, Shane M.R. Stevens of Mechanicsburg. He was preceded in death along with his parents by his brother, Roger Stevens.
Services will be held Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 4:00 pm in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg, PA. A visitation will be held Thursday from 3-4 pm at the funeral home. Private enurnment will be held in the Dillsburg Cemetery-Golf Course Road.
