Richard L. Weigel

Richard L. Weigel, 82, of Dillsburg passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023, at his home.

   He was born October 17, 1941, in Churchtown, PA the son of the late Park Weigel, Jr. and Beulah A. (Fisher) Weigel.

   Richard was a 1959 graduate of Cumberland Valley High School and was retired from Knaub Furniture Store, Dillsburg after 37 years serving as its manager. 

   Richard and his wife were founding members of the West Shore Free Church, Mechanicsburg. In his earlier years, Richard enjoyed playing baseball , softball, and hunting. In more recent years he enjoyed antiquing. 

   He is survived by his wife, Patricia E. (Berkheimer) Weigel; a daughter, Tammy L. Leer (Randy) of Dillsburg; a son, Randy S. Weigel of Dillsburg; a sister, Sandra K. Irish of Tafton; five grandchildren, Joshua M. Lerew, Dustin S. Weigel, Ashley D. Sipe, Brianna N. Martin, Taylor E. Weigel; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death along with his parents by one grandson, Heath R. Weigel; one brother, Frederic Weigel; and one great-grandchild.

   A celebration of life service will be held Friday, December 15, 2023, at 11:00 am in his church, West Shore Free Church, 1345 Williams Grove Road, Mechanicsburg, PA. A visitation will be held from 10-11 am prior to the service. Private burial will be held in the Dillsburg Cemetery-Mountain Road.
