Robert Miller Obituary

 

Robert Donald Miller, 89, of Dillsburg, PA passed away Friday, May 8th, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.

   He was born Thursday, October 22nd, 1936, in Carlisle, PA the son of the Mearl and Eleanor Miller.

   Bob was a graduate of Northern High School class of 1955 and then went on to service his country in the U.S. Army National Guard in the 28th Infantry Division Artillery from 1957-1962.

   He was a retired Steel Worker for Wilcox Forging after 43 1/2 years of service.

   Bob  enjoyed playing baseball for the Dillsburg Teeners and Mechanicsburg Legion Twilight League. He also coached Dillsburg Little League both Preteen and Teeners teams.

   Bob  was a life member of the Northern High School Alumni and the Mechanicsburg Men's Club and was a social member of the South Mountain V.F.W. Post #6771, Dillsburg. He was also a lifetime fan of the New York Yankees, Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and the Oklahoma Sooners. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing. 

   He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Charlotte R. (Lehman) Miller; daughters, Janine Miller of Dillsburg, Jodie Dimmick (Scott) of Dillsburg; grandchildren, Sarah Dimmick of Mechanicsburg and JR Dimmick of Carlisle.

   Memorial services will be held Thursday, May 21st, 2026, at 11:00 am in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg, PA.  A visitation will follow the service.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.

    Bob wishes to thank all the people at Andrews and Patel for 32 years of taking care of him and most recently the nurses and doctors at Holy Spirit Hospital and the nurses and aides with Residential Health Care and Hospice.
