Robert Earle Prosser, 91, of Rossville, PA went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at his home in Rossville, PA surrounded by his loving family.
He was born November 19th, 1934, in Dillsburg, PA the son of the late Lester W. and Beulah (Meals) Prosser.
Bob was a graduate of Northern High School, class of 1952 and served his country in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve. He worked for various steel companies including Harrisburg Steel and U.S. Steel before working as the part manager for C.N. Spangler Pontiac and then Prosser's Auto Body both in Rossville. Bob was Northern School District's biggest fan and you would often see him taking tickets and various sporting events.
He was a longtime member of St. Michael Lutheran Church in Rossville as well as the Dillsburg American Legion Post #26 and the South Mountain V.F.W. Post #6771 both in Dillsburg.
Bob enjoyed being active by golfing, playing baseball, Ice hockey, tennis and especially taking great pride in mowing his lawn.
He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Margaret Anne (Spangler) Prosser; his children, Karen Lynne DeFrain (Dale Hair) of Dillsburg, Brian Robert Prosser (Trudi Nye) of Rossville; two grandchildren, Jennifer Lynne Stacknick (Jason), Matthew Brian Prosser (Alexa); two step-grandchildren, Kayli Nye (Shane), Ethan Nye (Bekah); and two great-grandchildren, Levi Elway Stacknick, Maggie Elizabeth Stacknick and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Pifer.
Services will be held Monday, June 8th, 2026, at 11:00 am in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg, PA. Viewings will be held Sunday from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm and again on Monday from 9:00 am-11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Dillsburg Cemetery-Mountain Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Marks Prayer Shawl Ministry, P.O. Box 52, Rossville, PA 17358, for benefiting the 12 Days of Giving Veterans Drive.
The Prosser family would like to thank Residential Home Health Care, Residential Home Hospice, and all the family and friends who provided food and loving care during this time of Bob's illness.
