Robert Eugene Schrum

Robert Eugene Schrum, 71, of Newport, passed away Monday, January 12th, 2026, at his home.

   He was born Saturday, October 16th, 1954, in Mechanicsburg, PA the son of the late John D. and Beatrice E. (Wagner) Schrum.

   Bob was a Union Steward for A.B.F. Trucking Company where he retired from in 2015 after 29 years of service.

   He loved setting up and selling at flea markets with his wife. Bob also loved fishing, hunting, going to flea markets, yard sales, and auctions. Bob has lived in Perry County for the last 20 years and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. 

   He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Tracy Irene (Ruppert) Schrum; his son, Nick Schrum and his wife Andrea of Mechanicsburg; his daughters, Kristin Scheuerer and her husband Matt of Camden, NJ, Elsie Gabbard and her husband Charles Wagster of Newberg; his brother, Charlie Schrum of Landisburg; and six grandchildren. 

   Services will be held Saturday, January 17th, 2026, at 11:00 am in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg, PA. A viewing will be held Saturday from 10-11 am at the funeral home.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg, PA 17019.
