Robert Lewis Swift, 80, of Dillsburg, PA passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at his home.
He was born October 30, 1944, in Columbia, PA the son of the late Archer E. Swift, Sr. and Janet E. (Caswell) Swift.
Bob retired as a heavy equipment mechanic having last worked for Livingston Excavating in Dillsburg.
Bob served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion.
He was an avid dog lover and enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
Bob is survived by one daughter Valerie A. Hare (Kenneth) of Columbia; one son, Michael E. Swift (Mary Kay) of Red Lion; one sister, Mary A. Swift (Dave) of Dover; two brothers, James E. Swift and John V. Swift (Linda) both of Dover; three grandchildren, Austin and Alyssa Hare, Michael E. Swift, Jr.; and two great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death in addition to his parents by two brothers, Donald E. and Archer E. Swift, Jr.
Graveside services with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2025, 11:00 am at the Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Road, York, PA
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 South Lincoln Ave., Lebanon, PA 17042.
