Rodney Lee Gasswint, age 84, of Lewisberry and formerly of Dillsburg, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 29th, 2026 at the Gardens at West Shore, Camp Hill.
Rodney was born Sunday, July 6th, 1941 in Dillsburg, York County, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Ralph & Rosella Yohn Gasswint.
He was a retired printer, having work for Duplex in Dillsburg and Florida. He enjoyed hockey, playing and attending games. He also loved music. You could often find him listening to the Gaither vocal group or other bluegrass gospel songs. He played the piano in church. Sometimes while his niece played the organ. He also enjoyed playing softball. He was known for his pitching ability and was an Umpire for many years with Dillsburg Baseball. He also served as a volunteer Fireman for the Dillsburg Fire Company.
Rodney is survived by his loving wife, Lori A. Rathfon Gasswint. His beloved children: Scott L. Gasswint and his wife, Heather, of Deland, FL; Michelle C. Jeannetta and her husband Nick, Parkville, MD; Kari L. Fritz and her husband Aaron, of York and Kelli M. Gasswint and her husband Michael, of Harrisburg. His cherished Grandchildren: Kayla Jeannetta, Rachel Laws, Colleen Gasswint (Timothy), Tyler Gasswint (Alyssa), Rylee Dorris and Raegan Dorris and Great-Grandchildren Natalia Kerrigan, Paisley Gasswint and Beckham Rebbert. His brothers: Kay Gasswint, of Camp Hill and Robert Gasswint, of Etters along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased, along with his parents, by his son, Jason A. Gasswint and his sister and brother; Dolores E. Lehman and Donald Gasswint.
Services will be held Monday, May 4th, 2026 at 11:00 am in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut Street, Dillsburg, PA. A Viewing will be held on Monday, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, one hour prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Dillsburg Cemetery - Mountain Road.
