Roy M. Fuss, 87, of Mechanicsburg and formerly of Dillsburg passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at the U.P.M.C. West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg.
He was born September 7, 1936, in New Oxford, PA the son of the late Clarence and Helen (Albaugh) Fuss.
Roy was a certified beef cattle cow calf farmer, raising hay and corn for feeding and retired after 30 years of safe driving with Greyhound Bus Lines.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Congregation of Middletown and served as past treasurer of Monaghan Presbyterian Church in Dillsburg.
Roy served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Roy was past chairman of the Citizens Advisory Committee for Carroll Township and past member of the Carroll Township Planning Commission and Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee for Northern York County. In 2002 he was awarded the Cattleman of the Year of the South Central Pennsylvania Cattleman's Association and the same year he was awarded the Commercial Cattleman of the year from the Pennsylvania Cattleman's Association.
Roy generously donated hay to fellow farmer after fire tragically struck.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jeanne E. (Farmer) Fuss; two sons, Mark Fuss of Harrisburg, Wayne Fuss of Dillsburg; one daughter, Dianne Doll (Chris) of Dillsburg; one brother, Jim Fuss (Cindy) of Harrisburg; six grandchildren, Justin Fuss of Pittsburgh, Amanda Fuss of Harrisburg, Brittani Fuss of Florida, Alyssa Hannigan (Matt) of Lebanon, Kyle Doll (Sharon) of Baltimore MD, Logan Doll of Dillsburg; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 9:00 am in the Dillsburg Cemetery-Golf Course Road followed by a service at 11:00 am in his church, Presbyterian Congregation of Middletown, 290 N. Union Street, Middletown, PA 17057 with a visitation from 10:30-11:00 am at the church.
