Russell I. Ludlow, Jr., a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, passed away on May 19, 2024, at the Brethren Home Community, Cross Keys, New Oxford. He left his wife, Joan C. Hegge; a son, Russell Allen Ludlow, Boiling Springs; two granddaughters, Erin Ludlow, husband Daniel Osborne, VA; Christianna Ludlow, also of VA; a sister, Pat Thomas, husband Thomas of TN. Three stepchildren, James E. Hegge wife Marianne, PA; Steven M. Hegge, wife Dolleen, NJ; and Nancy Feller, husband Chris, ND; plus eight step grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine (Biles) Ludlow and Russell I. Ludlow, Sr.; first wife, Catherine (Neill) Ludlow; a daughter, Janet Ann Ludlow; and one sister, Katherine Rowe.
Russ was a member of Monaghan Presbyterian Church, Dillsburg and a lifetime member of the Dillsburg Lions Club.
Russ was also an avid orchid grower, gardener, and landscape artist. He loved to build things as shown by the beautiful doll houses his granddaughters enjoy today.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dillsburg Arts Counsel, P.O. Box 293, Dillsburg, PA 17019, for the upkeep of the Historical Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden.
