Ruth Arlene (Hess) Turman

Ruth Arlene Turman, 100, of Messiah Lifeways, Mechanicsburg, PA passed away Monday, July 13, 2026, at the village. 

She was born February 3, 1926, in Lititz, PA the daughter of the late John S. and Florence (Brubaker) Hess.

Arlene was the widow of W. Rupert Turman and was a member of the Messiah Village Brethren in Christ Church.

She is survived by  two daughters, Sandra K. Wenger of Mechanicsburg, Cynthia S. Martin of Lancaster and her husband James; a son, Delbert L. Turman of Lancaster and his wife Susan; eight grandchildren, Deena (Steve) Brown, Krista Dollman, Carla (Brandon) Apple, Nicole (Mike) Messina, Kristen (Matt) Crans, Jenna (Reid) Phillips, Matthew (Lindsay) Turman, Lindsay (Burk) Hedrick, Eric (Katie) Turman and nineteen great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death along with her husband by her son-in-law; Jeff Wenger, grandson-in-law; Andy Dollman; brothers, Richard B. Hess, James B. Hess, John E. Hess and three sisters; Mabel H. Lauver, Mary E. Lefever, and Anna Mae Brubaker.

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Grantham Memorial Park.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, aides, and staff of Messiah Lifeways for their compassionate, faithful, and loving care. Your kindness and dedication brought comfort to Arlene and to our family.

Arlene will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all that knew her. She lived her life for Christ. One of her favorite verses was, Psalm 32:8 "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you."

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Benevolent Fund of Messiah Village.
