Shawnacey Kate Booz, 37, of Hanover, PA passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born October 7, 1987, in Gettysburg, PA the daughter of James W. Pursell, Sr. of Landisburg, PA and Kimberly A. Smith of Hanover.
Shawnacey was a graduate of University of the Rockies and University of Arizona with a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology. After graduation she worked as a probation officer for the York County Probation and later had been employed as a transportation supervisor at UNFI in York.
She enjoyed music and going to concerts, traveling, target shooting, her dog Grizzy, and spending time with her best friend Amanda Moore of East Berlin.
Shawnacey is survived in addition to her parents by her husband Victor K. Basa; two daughters, Makenzie R. Pursell and Madison K. Booz both of Hanover; two step-children, Mauri Basa and Sadie Manzo both of Gettysburg; and eight siblings, James W. Pursell, Jr. of Wellsville, Corinna J. Tracey of Waynesboro, Morgan, David, Jacob, Leah, Jenna, Joseph Pursell all of Landisburg; her maternal grandfather, Wayne R. Shoemaker of Littlestown; and her aunt Kristi J. Golden of Littlestown. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Jayne L. Shoemaker.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, April 10, 2025, 2:00 PM at the Gettysburg Baptist Church, 95 Fairview Road, Gettysburg, PA . A visitation will be held Thursday from 1-2 pm at the church.
