Steven Van Sickler Obituary

Steven “Steve” D. Van Sickler, on November 14, 2024 passed peacefully, held lovingly by his children, Sierra and Andrew Van Sickler. Beloved father, brother, and friend, he is leaving this earth, welcomed into the arms of the universe.

He leaves behind daughter Sierra Van Sickler, son Andrew Van Sickler, sister Stacey Johnstone, brother Michael Van Sickler and several loving friends.

A family man to his core, Steve took pride in his children’s accomplishments, rejoicing in their successes and pushing them for the next best thing. More than just a family man, Steve was a Sailor with the United States Navy, motorcycle enthusiast, and overall adrenaline junkie. Second to his pride in being a dad, Steve was proud of his time serving our country, and honored that by continuing his work with the Federal Government, and sporting his gold submarine ring tirelessly. More than anything he loved his kids, the Green Bay Packers, and a good cigarette. Always bringing humor to every interaction, rarely was there a time where you would catch Steve in a conversation that wasn’t filled with laughter, strong opinions, and endless nods to some of his favorite movies. Steve breathed life into every conversation he had, his humor and wit unmatched. A grumpy old man on the outside but a tender heart and loving family man on the inside, Steve was a consistent and generous presence in the lives of many. Whether bestowing his wisdom, knowledge, or humor on those around him - he was always one to lend a hand where needed. Described knowingly and lovingly as a strong-willed, stubborn, but tender-hearted man, Steve was nothing short of one of the most amazing people the world will ever know and his presence will be missed so dearly by those currently grieving his loss.
