Sukirty Catherine Millary, 89, formerly of Dillsburg, PA passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the U.P.M.C. Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
She was born Saturday, May 1st, 1937, in Borsad, Gujarat, in the country of India the daughter of the late Khimchand and Krupa (Davjibhai) Christian.
Catherine was the widow of Thomas Millary.
Sukirty Catherine, grew up in a small village in India. After completing her education she moved to Saudi Arabia with her husband where she worked as a nurse for ARAMCO. The family then settled in Nairobi Kenya and Lusaka Zambia where Catherine worked as a nurse. While in Zambia she was promoted to Nursing Superintendent of the University Teaching Hospital. She was also recognized by the President of Zambia for her outstanding service.
Despite the many accolades she received, Catherine’s greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. She moved to the US in 1993 to be with her children and grandchildren. She also spent her time giving personal care to the elderly, crocheting blankets for donations and serving the community in whichever way she could including volunteering at the local library. Her love language was cooking! She loved to cook and entertain and many people were blessed by her culinary ministry. She also had a heart for various ministries such as homes for the blind, and orphanages where she would frequently send donations.
She is survived by three sons, James Millary of Gettysburg, David Millary of Dillsburg, Sundeep Millary of Oklahoma City, OK; one daughter, Veena Rozzell of York; three sisters, Mercy Parmar of Ahmedabad, India, Usha Harry of Wembley, England, Nivedita Christopher of Australia; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Sunday, May 17th, 2026 from 3:00 pm-4:00 pm at the Calvary Methodist Church, 203 Mumper Lane, Dillsburg, PA 17019 with services to follow at 4:00 pm and burial at the Dillsburg Cemetery-Golf Course Road.
