Thomas Henry Sechrist

Thomas Henry Sechrist, 86, of Dillsburg, PA and formerly of Red Lion, PA went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 9th, 2026, at the U.P.M.C. West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg, PA after a brief illness.

   He was born Thursday, August 3rd, 1939, the son of the late William McKinley Sechrist, Sr. and Mary Lucretia (Stump) Sechrist.

   Tom attended Kennard-Dale High School in Fawn Grove, PA and served his country in the U.S. Army as a SP5 stationed in Kami Seya, Japan in the Army Security Agency. 

   After serving in the Army he went on to work in the private sector including working as a Manufacturing Engineer with Dentsply International in York for 13 years and then went into partnership with his brother Bob, forming Sechrist Brothers Auctioneers, for many years, retiring in 2009. Tom also worked as a car auctioneer in New Jersey, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. 

   He attended Christian Life Assembly in Camp Hill and was a member of the Pennsylvania Auctioneer Assoc.  

  Tom held his private pilots license and enjoyed traveling, riding horses, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. 

  Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Darlene Ruth (Waltemyer) Sechrist; his daughter Dena Sue Brenneman (Scott) of Dillsburg; his brothers, Robert L. Sechrist (Millie) of Red Lion, William M. Sechrist (Erma) of Seattle, WA; two grandchildren, Bethany T. Salomone (Dominic), Brynlee T. Wilson (Spencer); three great-grandchildren, Avery, Bennett, Nora; and many nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Kenneth Sechrist and five sisters, Mary Ellen Beaverson, Gladys Taylor, Nancy Sechrist, Virginia Sechrist, and Barbara Knisley.

   Services will be held Saturday, June 13th, 2026, 11:00 am at Christian Life Assembly, 2645 Lisburn Rd., Camp Hill, PA. A viewing will be held Saturday from 10-11 am prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held in the Dillsburg Cemetery-Golf Course Road following the luncheon at the church. 

   Memorial contributions may be made to Christian Life Assembly, 2645 Lisburn Rd., Camp Hill, PA 17011 to be use toward Mission 10.
