Thomas R. Whittaker, 81, of Dillsburg, PA passed away Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the UPMC Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg, PA with his loving family by his side.
He was born December 10, 1943, in Huntingdon, PA the son of the late Donald and Dorothy (Enders) Whittaker.
Thomas retired from Verizon where he was the Director of Finance. He was a graduate of Penn State University and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War with a rank of SP5. He was stationed in Korea and assigned to I Corps Headquarters at Camp Red Cloud as the driver for the General.
Thomas was a member of Monaghan Presbyterian Church in Dillsburg. He was an avid woodworker, enjoyed singing, and was a big fan of Penn State wrestling.
He is survived by his wife Nancy E. (Reynolds) Whittaker; two sons, Don and his wife Karen of Las Vegas, NV, Dan and his wife Denise of Leesburg, VA; and eight grandchildren, Lilly, Gabriel, Pierce, Ben, Harrison, Jackson, Nicky, and Megan.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11:00 am in his church, Monaghan Presbyterian Church, 1185 Gettysburg Pike, Dillsburg, PA. A visitation will be held Saturday from 10-11 am at the church. Burial will full military honors will be held privately in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church, Monaghan Presbyterian Church, 1185 Gettysburg Pike, Dillsburg, PA 17019.
