Vernon L. Runk, Sr., age 83, of Camp Hill passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023, at his home.
He was born February 13, 1940, in Franklintown, PA the son of the late Charles T. and Alma V. (Ziegler) Runk.
Vernon retired from Bethlehem Steel where he worked as an electrician. He was a graduate of Northern High School and was a member of the National Honor Society. Vernon served his country in the U.S. Navy and enjoyed baseball and football.
He is survived by his wife Sharon R. (Williams) Runk; one son, Vernon L. Runk, Jr.; one daughter, Tammy K. McArthur and her husband Duncan of Lemoyne; two step-sons, John Kiracofe and his wife Stephanie of Shamokin, Craig Kiracofe of Camp Hill; one step-daughter, Leigh Anile and her husband Sabastian of Boiling Springs; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Vernon was preceded in death by one step-son, Chris Klugh; two siblings, Barry Runk and Sandy Trout, and one grandchild.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Boiling Springs.
