William Morgan Anderson, 67, of Boiling Springs, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024, at the Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center.
He was born February 16, 1957, in Mechanicsburg, PA the son of the late George Glover Anderson, Jr. and Lavinia Irene (Morgan) Anderson.
Bill was retired from Upper Allen Township where he worked for 42 years as Superintendent. He left a legacy behind for finding a family heirloom diamond ring in the sewer, making national news.
He was a graduate of Northern High School. Bill was an established banjo player and he enjoyed restoring antique cars, flea markets, collecting neat antiques, sitting on his porch and working in his garage. He was a craftsman who built his own home by hand and loved spending time in the woods, living the simple life. He was known for his quick witted jokes and for how much he loved his daughter. He was more excited than anything to become a grandpa.
He is survived by his daughter, Michaela Anderson Burns and her husband Ben Burns of Harrisburg and a grandson on the way; one brother, George G. Anderson, III of Etters; one sister, Ellen Sheaffer and her husband Denny of Dillsburg; two nieces, Emily Griffie (Lyle), Trisha Miller (Brian); four great nephews and one great-niece.
Memorial services will be held Monday, April 15, 2024, at 11:00 am in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg, PA. A visitation will be held Monday from 10-11 am at the funeral home.
There will be a picnic style gathering after the service. Everyone is welcome to come to celebrate Bill’s life. We’re encouraging those who have played with him to bring your instruments for a jam session. More details to follow at the service.
